Perhaps a picture of me behind a desk stacked high with old, dusty volumes might convince you guys that I'm not just on vacation. Really, despite all the other posts, I do research-related things quite often. Really. :o)
Even though I'm studying the history of the Anabaptists while I'm here, I constantly come in contact with contemporary issues, as well. (Especially with the year of events on Anabaptist history coming up.) Just now, I ran across an amazing quote on a Swiss Mennonite website, and felt the sudden urge to share it with the world:
die Grenze zwischen gut und böse geht nicht durch Länder, Klassen oder politische Parteien, sodern durch jedes Menschen Herz
Und die Linie verschiebt sich auch
www.etg.ch
the line between good and evil does not follow the lines of country, class, or political parties; it goes through each human heart
And the line shifts, too
Teaser: Julianne and I jumped in the Aare River and saw the Matterhorn in its full glory. Pictures soon to follow...

Yeah, yeah--so where IS the picture of you studying, Mary Ann? I suspect this quote is really something you came across while surfing the net looking for new hiking trails and that you haven't seen the inside of a book or library since arriving in Switzerland---okay, really I'm just jealous; I'd rather see pictures of mountain than of books any day.
I was wondering the same question. The said picture of Mary Ann dubiously researching the anabaptists is not present on this post...maybe it does not exist. Though I am not researching Anabaptists, I do have a stack of books on my dusty desk now. On another topic, hope your Fall Feast season has began well Mary Ann, and what was the name of that book I read on the way down to Ryan and Caroline's wedding?
I think this photo:
Mary Ann doing Research
pretty much sums up Mary Ann's "research" :)
Have you discovered that the Anabaptists prefered to baptize people upside down? I suppose that you are "researching" this experiance just as the astronauts research their zero gravity environments?! Just giving you trouble Mary Ann. I'm sure you're working hard.
How bout a new entry eh?
